Sulfate
What it is
A naturally occurring mineral salt in rock and soil, also from some industrial wastes.
Your body
EPA regulates sulfate as a secondary standard. At high levels it can have a laxative effect on people not used to it.
Your home
High sulfate can give water a bitter taste and contribute to scale.
